OT: Just for fun -- Myers-Briggs

It’s a weekend, and it’s slow, and someone just brought this up on another board I frequent, so I figured I’d drag it over here. What personality type are you? Do you think most whistlers are introverts or extraverts? Something to yak about over Guinness during session breaks, anyway

I’m an INFJ, by the way.

So far the introverts are leading 3 to 1!

What you expect… extroverts will be out partying HeHeHe

I’m too much of an Introvert to base any Judgment on the iNtuitive value of posting my results. At least that’s how it is to my way of Thinking

Or to put it another way INTJ. Heavy on the I and T.

As part of my job we do these “assesments” fairly often. In another test, cannot remember the name, I was an Amiable Analytical.

Hmm.. too many N’s and J’s around… I must be in the minority. Last time I checked, ISTP.

ENTP

Not a surprise to anyone who knows me!
Actually, when I test, I am right at the extremes of E, N and P, but borderline F-T. I once tested ENFP.

And my star sign is Herpes the Cow,

Congratulations Wolfie, I’m iNFj too!

Now, how about you and I discuss those mutual plans of World Domination again?

INFP

Tom

Yeah, Tom; way in fad in the last century.

What’s this sixties song, I believe about Daly City, Bay area ? “Little box-xes, little box-xes…”

After you submit the results of your test, it gives you the option to learn more about your score…but it’s ambiguously worded, I think.

Here’s a link to a page at the same site that explains the sixteen basic personality types and what each category means.

P.S. On reading the page a bit more closely, I see it doesn’t really go into much detail. Lemme see if I can get a better link and get back to you.

I’m ISTJ too…but I don’t know what it means and I imagine it’s all a load of manure anyway.

My church did something like this to see where our “spiritual gifts” lie. I thought it was silly. A waste of resources.

But I can’t help but take them! LOL Curiousity, I guess…but mine changes depending on my mood, which can be one thing on one day, and quite another a week or so later.

Want to know what OS you are?

They at least used to be used a lot at things like company retreats…the goal was to understand why different people may react differently to situations, with the idea of helping people to get along better together. There’s a book out, “Please Understand Me,” by Kiersey, that was required reading for a lot of managers in the '90s.

I just do it for fun, myself. It’s kind of like astrology for the 20th century (only generally a tad bit more accurate).

I should mention too (one thing the site I found doesn’t go into) that not everybody is hardwired into one category or another. It’s not unusual to score on the borderline in one or two areas (in the book, you might get a score of, say INXJ, meaning that you were solidly introverted, intuitive and judging, but tended to be in a more gray area in regards to “thinking/sensing”). It’s meant to be a general guideline, but unfortunately, often got misused to pigeonhole people.

Here’s a better site for interpreting what the letters mean:
