OT - FREE CONCEPTUAL ART IDEA HERE

O-Kay, time to pull out of the miserable whistle experience debate and present a fresh, free idea that is yours for the taking, courtesy of the Weekender who is a lazy but creative “arteeste”. Thought of it will riding through Berkeley Marina this a.m. on the bike.

PROBLEM: bad whistles, tons of em, including busted fipples, discarded bores etc etc, maybe even Generation factory industrial waste.
PROBLEM: rusting paint job on the family car. Not worth fixing.

SOLUTION: THE WHISTLE WAGON!!!

You see, here in the Bay Area, we have a tradition of “wild wheels,” namely cars that with bondo, glue, rivets, whatever, become floating expressions of hobbies, passions etc.
We even have a movie about it (Les Blanks’ Wild Wheels), produced four blocks from the Weekender’s apt and in the same building as one of the better record stores to buy IRTRAD music.

We have the Emily somebody’s Mondrian car, painted up like a mondrian in primary colors and rectangles with black borders and so forth. Then there’s a vw with everykind of toy glued to it, complete with roof propeller and ceramic watermelon.

So, handy men and women, take up a collection of whistles that we hate or broke, get out the adhesive and create the WHISTLE WAGON. You’ll get 15 minutes of fame by being on the local tv news, evangelize the cause of playable whistles (by carrying the Anna Martinez Memorial Box o’ Megs) You WILL end up on a C&F t-shirt, TOUR celtic festivals and REV your motor (with whistling mufflers) outside local recorder players’ houses late at nite!!! For the young fellas, its a whistlin babe magnet!!For everyone else, it establishes that you dance to a different whistler.

The Generous Weekender.

PS Now don’t shoot this one down, puhllleeeeze.

Im still alive, but Deadwood’s drowned! You want the painted green little Black Walton from the Sandy Skogland installation?

Anna: the keyword is “lazy.” My work is done, having presented this brilliant idea. We’re just waiting for the right person to flood with whistles and it aint me. We had a guy here that was collecting bras for this giant bra ball (like a rubber band ball only the 12 feet tall). Didn’t hear from him for a while, then a woman took over the project and the media made this huge deal. She stole the idea!
But that all started with Christo’s fence in Pt. Reyes (old parachutes).

I used Memorial cause it sounds more official.
(:

Sounds a little too Bohemian for me.

Cmon Walden-
The local tradition includes a friend of mine, Mitch Haik, who’s got a convertible painted up like an American flag.

These are thematic ideas, Walden and yes, we are more wacky out here on the West Coast. But who does it hurt??? We’re talking about promoting whistling, not sex drugs n rock-n-roll…

Ya know, if you put functional ones on there, they would whistle as you drove down the street. Dogs would cringe for miles, but you’d never hit a deer again!!!
