OT a little - Need mic for whistle

A couple in the group I play with generously footed the bill for most of the sound equipment we’ll need when we eventually play in public. However, each other member is to buy their own microphones. Recommendations, please, for specific brands and/or general features/specifications?

Hi,
Look under “amping the pennywhistle”
question below. We gave her a whole bunch of options; but of course, mine was best,
ha ha ha, saying to use a head-set mic cause you could move around on stage and even sit
down when exhausted.
I just don’t know what brands to recommend,
as I had to buy one that fit my head and
felt comfortable under my hair; so I
don’t even know if its a good or bad one.
When I bought it I didn’t have a whistle with
me so they handed me an old Recorder from under the counter and plugged me into
the store system and said blow. ha ha ha
When I finally got to plug it into our
mixer, my boss turned on the Phantom Power
and added some Reverb. and said it sounded just great!
Have fun,
Lolly

Shure Beta 57 does a fine job. We had a very large discussion concerning this isue in the near past…You may wish to check the archives.
Cheers.
