They’ve concluded that he’s hiding under a weapon of mass destruction. It’s obviouse that he is moving back and forth between the weapons of mass destruction to avoid detection, though it seems he could just stay put under one of them…

I don’t like Ashcroft. I think some of the programs he has proposed are necessary, and a lot are not only unnecessary but dangerous. I don’t doubt his basic honesty, either, though I certainly have issues with his judgement and the value system it derives from.
But just calling names without specifics isn’t criticism - it’s a verbal form of Onanism, with all the intellectual depth of a 5-year-old on the playground.

Steven, it started out as a borderline-fun thread (would folks have thought the same about a thread with Gore or Kerry as the butt, I wonder?). Making fun of political opponents is a time-honored practice.
I think it crossed the line into a pure political thread when it moved from making jokes to out-and-out name-calling.
I’m going to time-out myself from these political threads for a couple of days, at least. Much as we may disagree politically, I like most of the folks here (including vomitbunny, in case he was wondering), and I seem to be losing my sense of perspective.
I’ve been doing this lately (staying away from the heated threads) and it feels good.
On the other hand, Onam didn’t really invent the favourite American passtime he’s been credited for. He was engaging in a (notoriously inneficient) form of birth control known as coitus interruptus, because he was unwilling to share his inheritance with his brother’s offspring (it gets complicated…).
