optical illusions

Since we’re having so much fun with 3D sharks and bathroom wallpaper, I found these:

Unlike the other two that’ve been discussed recently, I can see these ones. I like them.

I hope you enjoy them, too.

Yep, neat stuff. There are whole books out on optical illusions. If you are in a library, you can probably have a field day.

I’m not at the moment, but I will be in the morning. I’ve noticed that when you work in a library, you forget little obvious things like this. Haha. :stuck_out_tongue:

I only thought of it because people have given me several books in the past on optical illusions, knowing how easily amused I am. :boggle:

I’m easily amused, too.

That presentation is very elegant. I kept thinking they really were changing the colors though! I know they weren’t.

This quote, which sort of helped me, was at the beginning of the paper, which I did NOT read:

“Every light is a shade, compared to the higher lights, till you come to the sun; and every shade is a light, compared to the deeper shades, till you come to the night.”

—John Ruskin, 1879.

Optics meets psychology. It doesn’t get much better than that.

As am I. I used to have a bunch of these kind of books, but I eventually started giving myself serious headaches squinting at the wild pictures.

Then you’ll like
The Luscher Colour Test

I learned that I “wish to find my stimulation in an atmosphere of sumptuous luxury.” Golly gee ned, whoda thunk it? I’m not too sure what stimulation they’re talking about but they’re surely right.

Oh dear, what an unusual website he’s discovered . . .

I used to have the book.

Looked like there were a number of books there . . .

My book was called “The Luscher Colour Test” by Dr Max Luscher

WOULD YOU STOP THAT?!?!?

Oh, I had that book. I was a bit worried about the rest of the books on that website. Now I understand, though.

I like purple and deep rose and pale greens.

Stop what, Nano?

Perhaps he’s worried some of those other books might be bad for his eyesight (?).

djm

I should think he’d be more worried about the state of his immortal soul!

Did you SEE those books???!!!

I only see what I want to see.

djm

Well, I only saw them because I prudently evaluate every website for safety before clicking on anything.
