I’ve had a chance to look at the “TWZ Whistle” thread. It appears very possible that the users “Paul”, “Manuel”, and “Jonathan” in that thread are either confederates or the same person and are misrespresenting themselves, and I’ve locked their accounts.
It’s not immediately clear that the “Andreas Joseph” user is the same person as the three listed above, but as Dale has received mail from Andreas noting that he hasn’t registered, I’ve locked that account as well.
Please keep in mind that there is no evidence at all that the person(s) involved here have any professional relationship with TWZ.
While I greatly appreciate Loren’s sharp eyes, I do have one request regarding reports of abuse on the board (for everyone, not just Loren!): While I realize the immediate reaction is to post an indignant message pointing out the situation, please resist the temptation to do that, and send Dale and I mail pointing out the potential abuse. I can use logfiles and private user information to investigate abuse reports beyond what you can see in the thread; while in this case I reached the same conclusion as the complaint, I’d really prefer to avoid the situation arise in which the abuse report was found to be inaccurate. It also makes sure it gets attended to; I don’t always have time to read every post in every thread on the board.
