A perfect excuse for this from Nanci Griffith - who once let me sleep on her living room sofa for a week. Really. ![]()

I also walked outside last night, looked up, and winked at Neil. Did you?
I once stood next to Tony Benn in a public urinal.
And did you see the moon?
Er … no.
Whatever can he mean, folks? ![]()
No idea. Maybe he meant to ask “did he bend to the left?”

Nice song. I (as is typical) had no idea of her, so I checked Wiki. She happens to be wearing a Nixon/Agnew button in the stock photo, so there–we have something in common. In '72 I was in 6th grade and didn’t know any better, so I “supported” Nixon, as my dad advised. My friend Sally, whose family was among the rare Democrats in our county, was the lone voice for McGovern amongst us 11 year olds. Sally and I, now reunited on Facebook, seem to be in better agreement these days. And I’ll say nothing more about that, as it would be political. But I will be happy to tell you about the dopey braids I still wore, when all the other girls were doing something more “sophisticated” with their hair.
