Off to Lark Camp, with Flutes for Show and Tell

I am off to Lark Camp in Mendocino in the morning. For show and tell, I am bringing some new flute models: A standalone combo in E/Eb (actually there will be 2 of them there - Ian Law is bringing his); My new big bored “Irish Stye” F Flute. Both of these are headed off to Galicia after Camp, along with a pile of factory second Folk Flutes. A pair of factory second folk flutes will also be available for checkout at Jason Cool’s music library in Camp 3, as soon as I give these to him.

Everything else I am bringing is for Galician and French music, and Jazz/Swing. I’ll me mostly hanging out in Camp 2, staying at the Gate House just across the bridge from the bus stop but need to come down to Camp 1 daily to check for messages and email, and because I want to see my friends there who rarely make it out to Camp 2.

After Camp is 3 days of Gaita and Requinta instruction and fun at an event we call the Gaita Instituto at a house in the Berkeley Hills. I’ll be back here mid August but will be vacationing a bit (and recovering from the 2 weeks of fun) and have no plans to work until August 29th. One of the benefits of having and keeping a tiny queue (due in part to people worrying about the economy with pre-election jitters! Flute orders are way down this year - and I suspect I am not alone in this).

See you there!
