Nov. whistle class at Dusty Strings, Seattle

Is anyone else taking these classes?

http://www.dustystrings.com/shop/workshops.shtml

Beginning to Intermediate Bodhran, Paddy League, Sat., Nov. 2, 1:00-2:00, $30. Both an introduction to the traditional Irish frame drum and a master class for players with some experience who want to refine their technique and musical ideas. Covers stick technique in depth, plus tonal variation and the different Irish dance rhythms. Instruction book and CD set will be available.

Beginning Irish Flute and Tin Whistle, Grey Larson, Sat., Nov. 2, 2:30-4:30, $30. “Boehm system” silver flutes also welcome. Players must be able to get a basic sound and know the note fingerings and names. Flutists can play tin whistle (key of D) in the workshop if they prefer. Covers the basics of playing traditional Irish music on these instruments, avoiding pitfalls that would have to be unlearned later. Music reading not necessary!

I’ll be there!

I’ll probably be there, now that I know about it… thanks!

Drop me an email if you want to meet up!

-Maybe, but won’t know until early October thanks to my employer’s arcane
procedure for scheduling comp time.
-I’ll e-mail you if it looks good.-

I’m new to the board(and the whistle). I think that I’ll be there.

Hey great, and welcome! Drop me an email if you want to meet. I’ve never been to Dusty Strings but I hear it’s a cool shop.

Oh yeah, it’s cool. I busted my coolness detector on that place.
