New Whistles - Seery & The Doolin

Could I just let you know that detailed information on the brand new Delrin whistles and flutes by Desi Seery (as mentioned in posts by others recently) is now available on my website.

Also, information on the inexpensive Doolin whistle (as mentioned elsewhere on the board) will be there in about 1 week.

Thanks,

Steve

I look forward to hearing a sound clip. Could you get one that doesn’t have a lot of other instruments with it. A nice slow solo piece would showcase its qualities.
Thanks,
Tony

Both the whistle and the flute look pretty sharp.

No, Eric, they’re both IN TUNE, I promise

I played my friend’s Seery just last night and these were my impressions:

  1. WOW! What a nice looking whistle!

  2. WOW! What a nice feeling whistle!

  3. WOW! What a TON of air you need to play it! Especially in the second octave! This is in my mind better suited for a flute/whistle player, or someone with some MASSIVE lungs in any case. Think Shaw, times about three!

Very lovely tone however, with a good deal of chiff and very stable. No noticeable squeaks, or off notes. Seems to be tuned in quite well.

What’s the going rate Steve? I still like my Burke whistle better as far as purity of tone, but this one is beautiful to behold!

Hi Brian

Dale let me post this, but I don’t want to get too commercial!! The going rate is to be found at my website.
