Did he even read the subject heading of this forum? ![]()
Kinda like this one guitarist who’ll occasionally come to one of the smaller sessions, listen for a while, go get his standard-tuned guitar, plunk himself down, and try to steer us in a more modern and enlightened direction. The pillock plays in a band, so obviously it behooves us to listen well and consider. But then, he’ll play the odd bar song during a break and declare it trad. All we’re lacking is a didge. And Zamphir, too.
We usually pack it in around then unless we’re feeling perverse. Fortunately he doesn’t show up very often.
The more time I spend playing with old timers the less and less patience I have for that kind of nonsense. ![]()
Feel free to kick him in the arse on my behalf.
all right enough begrudgery

We actually called him on it last night (he didn’t show 'til near closing time, thank goodness); he really didn’t get it. Odd: he was also complaining about how his fiddler was arrogant and didn’t listen. Birds of a feather, I’m thinking.
But next time I’ll hand him his arse and tell him you said I could, Pat. ![]()
OK, as you say: no more begrudging.
I tried out a few sets of panflutes at the folk music store where I used to work. They’re pretty enough, but how anyone could play a fast tune on those things is beyond me.
I’ve seen it done (but not ITM).
