New online Celtic music radio show

I’ve become a volunteer disc jockey on our local college/community radio station, WBGU FM 88.1 Obviously, unless you’re within a few miles (more like “blocks” on bad days.. ) you can tune in over the "net. I recommend iTunes for the best sound. Look under “radio” and then under “college radio” until you see “WBGU FM 88.1”

But we also have live streaming on our website.

I try to cover artists from Scotland and Ireland and show how they relate to music from North America like the Cape Breton sound and American folk music like bluegrass and Appalachian.

Matt and Shannon Heaton were my guests last week. it was tons o’ fun.

This week (Monday Feb 16, 2009) I’ll be featuring Jim Malcolm’s new CD, “The First Cold Day.” My studio guests will be Bob Midden and Mary Dennis from Toraigh and David Braun who teaches Irish language classes and is an expert on sean nos.

In coming weeks, Karan Casey and Kev Crawford will be my guests, as will John Doyle. I HOPE to have Liz Carroll on soon as well. Please tune in.

My VERY special guests on my show tomorrow Monday Feb 23, 2009 will be Karan Casey and Kevin Crawford.

You can tune in online at http://wbgufm.com or over itunes. From noon until 2:00 PM EST (5:00 PM until 7:00 PM GMT.)

Alas and alack – missed it! :frowning:
Will your broadcasts ever be up on podbean or anything?
Hope the show was fun. A great service you’re doing.

Sorry.
Under the terms of our webcasting license, we can’t archive or podcast any copyrighted material. So what I’ll have to start doing is making a recording of original material (i.e interviews) without any recorded music, and make those available… assuming that the interviewees don’t object.

In the coming weeks I’ll have John Spillane and John Doyle on my show . Stay tuned.
