Hey Folks,
My monthly show, Atlantic Weekly Part II, is coming up at WTJU the local, UVA sponsored radio station. I’m on the air from 10 am to Noon our time (15:00 to 17:00 GMT) on Saturday, March 18th.
My show this month is centered on music from Sliabh Luachra for the first hour and Clare for the second.
Atlantic Weekly is on every Saturday. The first two hours (Part I) focus on traditional music from America and the second two hours (Part II) focus on music from Ireland, Scotland, England and sometimes other areas of Europe. I’m on every third Saturday, and other great folks are on the other weeks.
If you’re curious what I’ll be playing this weekend hit that little “www” button at the bottom of this post. That will take you to my blog where I’ve started posting play lists.
I’ve been doing this show for about 5 years now, but have been on a little suspension for the past two months (my screw up). But the station has only gone on line in the past six months or so and I’ve just started posting the play list. It’s great to be able to sit in a dark little room and listen to tunes for two hours.
You can listen LIVE (unfortuately it’s not being archived at the present) online at: http://wtju.radio.virginia.edu/
WTJU is a great little station that really knows how to leave their DJ’s to play the good stuff.
Give it listen if you’ve got the time or desire and feel free to email me or pm me with suggestions or comments. We’ve also got a computer in the studio now, so theoretically you could email me any requests as well. Isn’t technology a blast.
