There’s a new Irish trad session in New York City Monday nights at the Landmark Tavern, 11th Avenue and W. 46th Street (212-247-2562). Don Meade has created it, and I’ve been invited to co-host this coming Monday Jan. 29 from 8-11 p.m. If you’re in the area, come on in and we’ll knock out some good old tunes. http://www.thelandmarktavern.org/
Hey, gotta broadcast the fact I had a terrific time at this new Manhattan session last Monday. . . always a treat to play with the multi-instrumental Don Meade (who plays a darn fine feadog as well as banjo, guitar, harmonica, fiddle). . . and the incomparable Tom Dunne was there knocking out the tunes on fiddle, plus a bunch of other folks I’d never met but would love to jam with again. . . very classy restaurant as well with tasty pub food and the usual liquid libations. . . we just sat and played for three solid hours and there was a song or two at some point, then I split and caught the train home to Jersey.
Supposed to be seriously chilling this Monday, but if you’re in the neighborhood, you ought to drop by.
