New Day

I am now in the possession of a new Michael Hubbert half set–thanks Michael. Very lovely to look at. Been working with a budget practice set the past 1.5 years. Tried the Hubbert “out of the box”–what a difference (happy dance). Wife claims it’s my midlife sports car. Maybe it is.

As a mid-life piper, I salute you larrywcusick. Happy piping.

Good luck n happy piping. Cheers

Pictures? It’s always a pleasure to view Mr. Hubbert’s work.

Stunning. Thanks for posting it. Is that a barrel style bass drone?

Nice looking set. Best wishes to ya mate. Cheers!!

Sorry Harlow, but I don’t know what a “barrel style” drone is.

It looks to me to be a fine example of a ‘Taylor’ style drone, with the ‘trumpet’ section inside a timber. Sometimes the Taylors (master craftsmen) used offset centers to make the timber into a rounded triangular section. R.L. Mealy simply used a straight timber with two interior passages.
