So there it is. 
It’s a nice looking whistle by the picture. I can’t wait to hear about how it sounds, plays, etc.
Are you saying that this is a picture of the Spillane whistle?

But it looks like a Howard, not Howard himself but the whistles he makes.

LOL, if thats the case then I have had several Davey Spillane whistles and never knew it.
It seems to me that people around here have grown a bit jaded.
It jars a simple, straightforward soul like mine, I tell you.
And I, Bloomfield, who lever nies. :roll:

Well, it didn’t really go anywhere, and it occured to me that
it would feel bloody akward to collect money and then be
unable to come up with the whistle. And I wasn’t hearing
back from Spillane’s people.
But then I did hear back from them. I decided to front the money.
To save as much of that as possible, I had the whistle shipped
to Germany, where I have friends. That where it is right now.
I’ll be getting it in a week or two. Then I’ll post a review, and
perhaps I’ll send it on tour for those interested. (And I’ll talk
about the Howard resemblance issue, too).
But really: It’s a Spillane whistle. Just ask Dale.

Who’s actually saying it’s anything else, Bloomie? Nothing in this thread indicates its Spillaneitude.
There is a similarity, but they’re not exactly the same. Interesting.

Well, golly. Maybe it’s my turn to be gobsmacked. Is it the only one ever so far?
As far as I know. This is the same “new” Spillane whistle that was first announced by Talbert St. Clair. Then Spillan’s people were in touch with Dale. He couldn’t garner enough interest to collect the funds to order one. Nor could I at first, and then I just ordered one using the information Dale had received. I still haven’t actually got the whistle, but will get it pretty soon.
We await a review, then, of course, and expect that not only will it be as detailed and fulsome in its clarity as only you, Bloomfield, can deliver, but that you will also either post it in the whistle forum or otherwise label it OT.
