Spillane Low D: 2006 Update

Many of you may recall that our own Bloomfield actually purchased a Spillane Low D and wrote a review here. Besides this documented sighting, I’m looking to see who else has encountered a Spillane Low D. Besides the Bloomfield Specimen, post here if you’ve ever seen or played a Spillane Low D.

Thanks.

i’ve played a Howard, is that close enough?

If Davy Spillane played one on the ‘‘Riverdance’’ VHS, then I saw one.

Well, as it turns out: He didn’t.

Might we just let this one drift off into the past?

Believe it or not, I’m not trying to make trouble. I actually have an interest in knowing whether these are available. After Bloomfield bought one, I expected we’d be hearing more about them and hearing more from people who have bought and played them. I’ve not heard from any such people, and it makes me wonder if the project got abandoned.

OK, What did he play?

Either an Overton or a Chieftain, if memory serves.

No more than we should let the Loch Ness monster or Big Foot or the UFOs drift off into the past. Life is enlarged by mysteries. We should be reminded from time to time just how little of the universe we truly understand. I’ll let you know if a Spillane Low D wanders through my backyard. For a nominal fee, I’ll post the shakey, grainy, black and white footage on C&F. My tongue is only partly in my cheek; I can still sorta play the whistle, which is an improvement.

If it was an Overton or Chieftain and he owned it. Would it not be Spillane’s whistle?

there, i’ve run rings around you logically…

Are you kidding (entirely possible), or did you miss the saga?
If the latter, then here’s the scoop:

Also, see mystery #3 here:

Yes I am kidding, and I did see the saga. Could not help myself kidding. I was bored. Still am.

I’m sorry, I’m locking this thread…

Well, you could always try practicing…

Loren

I wonder if Jerry could tweak the existing Spillane.
Imagine the value!
OTOH, since there’s only the one, (as far as we know,) perhaps it would be like adding proper perspective to a Grandma Moses painting.
Not done. But the idea appeals to me.

hehe!

Dale,

I thought you were in contact with spillane’s marketing manager? You should be giving us an update of how the big project (spoof) is going!!!

Q: Did Bloomfield ever really own a Spilane whistle or did he just take a picture of a Howard as a joke? He is laughing about it at this very minute!

I don’t believe Bloomfield really exists: I think he is simply an artifact created and planted by someone in advance, to provide a review of the whistle at the proper moment.

Mulder, Scully - do you concur?

I post therefore I am.
