***Bulletin*** Bloomfield Photo from NE Gathering

Finally, for all the Chiffers who have wondered what Bloomfild looked like, nay, wondered if he even existed…

I offer you a photo of the real Bloomfield attending the NE Whistle Gathering…

More to come later!!!

Mike

Looks just like I always imagined.

Yes, that’s him, with his neck all twisted at an impossible angle (I think it’s amazing that he’s overcome this to be able to play the whistle) and staring at the clouds. You know, of course, that the attempted lynching years ago caused that greenish tint to the head. Poor lad. I respect him so much.

Thanks for sharing, slowair!

Susan

Oh my goodness. Gunther is going to be furious when he sees this… Hehehe.

I wish I could have been there to witness the scene!

You mean, all this time the guy I…well…you’ve had a stand-in??!! I’m shocked, nay dismayed, nay flabbergasted, nay confused, nay whatever.

Susan

You thought I was dying my hair a different color every week and wearing platform shoes now and then?!? :boggle:

Wow! He looks more like Heinz Erhardt than I could’ve imagined.

I really don’t think there’s any connection, but it’s rumored of late that Jack Benny’s tomb is empty… :smiling_imp:

Philo

Well, um, yes. I thought that was part of the…um…well… cough Never mind.

Susan
going off to reconsider the past

Who’s the handsome rake playing the whistle next to Bloomie?

It looks to me like Bloomie has lost some weight since he visited us in Cleveland. Several of the double chins are gone and his neck is not as twisted. A few days in Cleveland will do that to some people.
Mike

you’re a stinkin’ tease, you are.

I understand your suspicions, PhilO, but I don’t think this guy had a violin… did he?

Susan

is that an alba Q1 the fella next to heinz is playing?

I think it may be a Q1 indeed. In which case it would be mine (I gave my meager collection to my stand-in to take to the gathering).

He won’t stop raving about how beautiful the Paul Busman whistles are, btw, and how sweetly they play. Busman, I understand, is that “handsome rake” next to my stand-in. And he wouldn’t stop raving aobout the different woods and fittings. Made me very jealous to have missed it.

All in all, I am beginning to doubt whether it was good to send him to the gathering. He his constantly digging his elbows in my side in his annoying European way and saying “Robin IS cute, now, isnt’ she, know what I mean, know what I mean…” or stuff like that. One really does have to be careful with these whistle players…

I’m somewhat disappointed. I would have expected a bit more sartorial acumen. Yes, I know that the setting Bloo’s pictured in isn’t Times Square, but really. You never know who you’ll meet.

Sartorial acumen? Do you wash your hands after posting things like that, Nano?

But seriously, I tried to get him to wear a suit, or at least a sports jacket. He outright refused, and of course my suits would be way to large on him (not to mention short).

That was YOUR Q1?? And I, in my naivete, actually put that thing in my mouth and played it…the horror! Hmmm…where are my vaccination records now… no, wait. Antibiotics…

:astonished:

Robin

Nice riposte. But no. I imagine we’ll not be shaking hands soon.

And a bloody shame it is, too. Especially if you would spring for a couple of rounds to mark the occasion, that is.
