movies

Just came home, wanted to buy myself this movie:

but they ran out!

So I bought myself these instead:

Fun with Dick and Jane is horrible.

I’ve never seen the other two.

Oh, good I didn’t get it then, I like the Carreyesque kind of humor, but of course, this one could be crap too.

You shouldn’t watch movies like that, amar. They’ll give you nightmares :boggle:

well…they give me nightmares

Yes, Jim Cary is very frightening.

Saw is good.

Saw II stinks.

I haven’t seen Saw yet but have been meaning too. I actually thought Hostel was a pretty good movie for what it was, much better than I expected. Eli Roth’s first move Cabin Fever was hyped up, but I didn’t care for it at all. His second one surprised me.

You know I saw that cover with those fingers on it at the video place and I was freaked. :astonished: I am still freaked. :astonished: That covers bothers me a lot. I would never get to the point of looking at the back of it. I guess it must be a horror movie. I didn’t know it was called Saw. That sounds like a horror movie .

yeah, I watched Saw2 last night, wasn’t too hot.

See?

I would recommend to you:

Kill Bill 1 & 2, if you like that type of thing

Yes, Cynth, I agree that photo is horrible, the first Saw, though, was pretty good, great ending.

FWIW, I saw Friends With Money yesterday, and loved it, cute little movie that left me in a great mood afterward. I don’t usually go for those kinds of things…

When Saw 2 came out not long ago my neighbor mentioned seeing it with her daughter, a senior in high school. They really liked it but myself I’m not too crazy about I guess what I’d put in the slasher catagory. I did read on the IMDB though that the second Saw was originally called something else (than Saw 2) and that the sceenplay was rejected by the producers who thought it was too Saw-like. Then Saw became a bigger hit when it played at some film festival so the producers got ahold of the screenwriter again, who had nothing to do with Saw and got him to do some re-writing to make it ‘even more Saw-like’ Then they changed his original title to Saw 2.

Speaking of movies has anyone seen History of Violence? I liked it alot but the same neighbors who are into Saw-like flicks didn’t really jibe with it. I don’t know, maybe not mindless enough for them.
