Does anyone know where I might find some abc/dots for this tune? I cant find them in the usual places I look…
No prizes for guessing which old film I just watched.
Thanks for any clues.

I have no clue. What movie is it from? ![]()
Ah, one I know for a change.
Rob Roy – with Karen Matheson doing some great vocals.
Thanks!
Well, I am hopeless at trying to represent tunes as ABC, and I am pretty poor at learning tunes by ear…
…but here is my first (feeble) attempt, and if anyone would like to give me a kick in the right direction I would be grateful.
I am uncertain of the exact pitches used - I seem to be able to hear the relative pitches better (I am very likely to transpose).

This fragment is fairley sparse, and so I can start it on e instead.
Thanks in advance for any help
You’re not going to find film OST transcriptions, except perhaps in commercially published form …
If it’s this melody you’re after, here’s a basic transcription. It’s a slow air, so the time sig is arbitrary; I chose a triple feel.

Thank you very much MTGuru. I really struggle to get stuff by ear. Now that I have the pitches I can learn the tune, and then only need the abc as a reminder.
I really appreciate that you put some time into helping me (and not just on this occasion).
Always a pleasure, Phill. Transcription is an acquired knack, and I’ve been doing it a long time. ![]()
And you started on the same note as I did! I got that one right. ![]()
Not sure if anyone is interested - I stumbled across the fact that this song is actually an traditional one. Well actually I knew that from the start, but did not know which one. Its AILENN DUINN or AILEIN DUINN.
