Duffy are you going this year? We missed each other last year but a couple of us did find each other.
I’m going to be there on Saturday and Sunday if any body wants to get together for a bit.
I’ll bring my O’Riordans and Abells and some flutes for people to try.
For sale or trade I’ll have:
Burke Brass session black tip
O’Brien Rover set
Hoover white cap
Overton low F
Murgacz (sp) - maybe
Casey Burns folk flute - if I haven’t sold it by then
Hoza Cookstown Ironwood Ef flute
Casey Burns Blackwood three piece D flute
I’ll be there for sure on Sunday but I’ll be with my parents, my sister, and my nieces so I don’t know if I’ll be able to get together. I might go on Saturday as well, but I’m not sure yet. I’m looking forward to it!
Hi Jim, the wife and I are planning on being there. My cell #972-571-1518. Her’s is 972-571-6915. I’m trying to persuade her to bring her harp in case an opportunity crops to run off a few tunes, maybe at a local pub or something.
Hope I get to catch up with y’all one of the days. Looking at the schedule, it looks like I could meet between 4 - 5 on Saturday. I know I’ll be at the Village Pub at 5:15 on Saturday. I want to see Tom Sweeney. Another possibility is Sunday morning. One time Duffy and I skipped Mass and met for a while to share whistles.
Tom, I’ll take your phone # with me and get a phone card and call sometime on Saturday, probably between 12 and 1 pretty soon after we get in. I don’t know where we’ll go first, or at least not yet. I’ll check with my friend and see if there is anyone she wants to see first. I’ll throw my whistles and flutes in my backpack so I won’t have to go back to the car.
If anyone else has some ideas of when/where to meet, let me know.
I’m leaving home early Thursday for the drive over (9 hours to Appleton) so I’ll be out of touch with my computer after that.
I’ll for sure be at Irish Fest once more! My band, athas, is playing five times throughout the weekend–we’re playing a bunch for dancers, so be sure to come out and have some fun doing ceili or sets. Keep me posted as to where and when, and I’ll attempt to meet up with folks from C&F again!
I’ll be there probably all four days. Weatherman is a little gloomy right now about Friday night and Saturday morning, but I’m not a true believer in those folks. Besides whats a little rain when there’s that much great music available. I’m going to try my new knees on the 5K walk Saturday morning so I may spend a lot of time in the session at the little pub overlooking the lake later that day (if they do that again this year).
I’d love to do that gathering again near the South gate during and after Mass Sunday morning. It was fun meeting and talking to people. Another specific place to meet is at the Celtic Cross early Saturday afternoon or sometime. If someone wants to commit to something I’ll most likely be there. (I picked last year and was very lonely!)
I was there yesterday and thought the Nova Scotia tent was THE BEST. Jerry Holland, accompanied by JP Cormier–wonderful. I liked pretty much everyone who performed on that stage.
No, that was probably me. While I was waiting around last year for any of you folks to make yourself known, I met a man and his two kids playing in the back of the area set aside for those not choosing to attend mass. This year, he had another daughter with him and we had some very nice tunes on a Burke, a Susato and guitar. Did anybody get together at all this year?
