Then I noticed it was the Echo writer. NIce. Better that than one of the WSJ staffers hacking it up.

There was a show during beg-a-thon week on our PBS affiliate some time back with a bunch of New York-New Jersey-Philadelphia (and other) ITM musicians. Joanie Madden, Mick Moloney, Athena Turgis, Robbie O’Connell, many others. Mike Rafferty joined them for a couple of sets, and there was this sort of reverence they all felt toward him. I feel the same way; I don’t think there’s another Irish flute player who embodies more of what I like in the music.
