I’m listening to my copy right now. Haven’t read Hitchner’s review, but mine can be summed up in two words: Fecking brilliant. (“Heartbreakingly beautiful” is also an option; take your pick)

I’ll second the sentiments expressed. I actually bought two copies with a view to sending one to a former student of Willie’s in Korea. But one stays in the CD player in the car and the other is in the computer (Patrick, if you read this, I’ll get another for you soon:o). Brilliant playing by three of the best Irish musicians at the top of their game, and three gentlemen to boot. I haven’t been this impressed by a recording since the Planxty reunion. Authentic stuff.
Waiting impatiently for mine to arrive.
