I tried one recently, it was a nice whistle, if a bit quiet (definately not for sessions.) I’d rate it as being better than a Howard (easier top end and finger stretch), but not as good as a Copeland or Overton, in terms of tone and workmanship.
I was told the retail price direct from the maker is about $150., and I imagine shipping would be extra. A little high, imo, when compared with an Overton at just about $50 more, however it may be just the ticket for those seeking a low to medium volume whistle that’s easy to play from bottom to top.

I play a regular Cheiftain already and really like it. Overtons are great, but a just a bit of a stretch. I have just been toying with the idea of getting another low d.
I have a Cheiftain low C, and a Overton low D. With a Overton bass Bb on the way. The only way to go from Cheiftain is Overton or Copeland. 
If you would like to try them I can bring them to Seabrook Thursday?
I think faster tunes can be played on a Cheiftain.
