When I was at Willie Week I heard a lot of people talking about Martin as being the up-and-coming next big thing.
My teacher there, Leo Rickard, played his pipes. They sounded really bright and loud to me, but I suspected the reed might be too hard for a wimpy girl like me.

I know a piper in Tampa who owns a Preshaw 1/2 set…they are very nice sounding pipes.

I played a Preshaw set in Ireland (Co. Galway) that absolutely sang. Owned by a well known (at least in Galway) performer. He swore by them and mentioned that many locals were considering going with Preshaw in the future.

I have heard third-hand that he has a very good reputation for beginner and half-sets in D, but is trying to get more interest for his flat stuff.
