Hi Zixinus, I came across a very interesting review, written in Oct. 2010, about one of Michael’s keyed polymer flutes by a fellow called Mark Chu - Carrol, a Computer Scientist and professional Software Engineer on an internet forum called " Good Math, Bad Math. " It turns out that this chap had agreed to revamp the M & E Flutes website in return for a flute. Sounds like a very sensible arrangement. I found the review informative and objective - in fact to date it’s one of the best reviews I’ve ever read on any flute. So I thought I should share it with others on the forum. It’s titled " My Newest Flute, made of…Plastic?! " See link below.
Mr. Chu - Carrol mentions thinking about buying a flute in F. from Michael at a later date. I wonder if the website is being currently over-hauled by this gentleman ( for another flute ) and could possibly explain it’s absence ?
Clearly there is a problem of some technical sort, if some folk can access it and others cannot. For me , the page comes up, but I’m unable to access any of the links. Maybe this site is being used as a temporary stop gap until a new website is completed ? As Mr. Gumby points out this site is a very old one.
M&E for awhile had/has two mostly identical websites running simultaneously: irishflutes.net & tinet.ie/~mandeflutes
The identical nature of the two was really only in respects to their content (many links simply forwarded to the other newer site). The design and web coding was improved on the irishflutes.net one. I visited it probably only a week or so ago.
I believe the tinet.ie one is older (copyright 2003 vs. 2006). Irrespective of age, all of its page links push to the irishflutes.net page so effectively it is dead too.
