I’ve been trying to re-confirm my place on the Olwell keyed waitlist for the past few days by calling the two phone numbers I have for his shop. One or both of these numbers has always worked in the past (for about the last 6 years) but now neither of them function.
I was wondering if anyone has the current contact information for Mr. Olwell (phone, e-mail, etc.) and would be willing to send it to me in a PM.

Summer is a terrible time to reach Pat. Busy not only in shop but also at festivals and conferences and travel, etc.

btw…I’m not at all sure if he’s taking orders on cocus flutes anymore, the material being so horribly hard to locate in any measurable or usable amounts.
they changed the area code for Pat’s area, try the number you have for the shop with (434) as the area code, that should work, 2779215 is the rest of the shop number…
Pat sent me an email today. He says they had quite a bit of damage around his place from a massive storm. They’ve been four days without electricity in the house and shop. A large tree dropped on the corner of Aaron’s house! About half of their neighbors have their electricity turned on now, so Pat’s hoping they’ll be put back on the grid “within a day or two”. He reckons that’s why the phone in the shop isn’t working. He says the experience has been a bit intense. It’s also been about 96F everyday, and humid, without air conditioning.
Nonetheless, my keyless, all Arican blackwood will be ready in about two weeks, so in the circumstances I am one lucky blighter …
The telephone connection, even with the new local area code, didn’t work for me, and if I want to phone Pat in future I shall go through the international operator and let them sort it out, as they invariably do.

Aaron, Patrick’s son, says their phone number is still the same,
(434-277-9215) but they’re without electricity in the workshop since
Friday! Despite the very severe storms they had, Aaron says he has power at his house so flutes are getting made there today.
Not so luckily, he confirms they had a 75 year old Oak tree fall on their house, but given
that, the damage “was not too bad”.
Aaron says he checks patrickolwell@gmail.com, but not his Dad’s AOL account, so everyone’s maybe a little more likely to get a timely response at the gmail account.
So it sounds as if the Olwell powerhouse is at full bash despite Nature’s worst and we have contact …
So all is well with the Olwell’s and God is in his heaven …

It’s olwellflutes [at sign] gmail [dot thingy] com (that’s where Aaron Olwell picks up the email - more frequently than any other Olwell email address would otherwise get picked up …).

You might want to edit your posts so the emails read like this: name at address dot com (see David’s post above). Otherwise, they’re at the mercy of spam bots, and more spam probably means a longer waiting list!
