Hi All,
Is there any instrument that has the fingering of the whistle, with drones and bellows?
I am familiar with the Uilleann Pipe, but the fingering is different.
Thanks for your time.

The fingering of the Uilleann pipes is not so different from the whistle that it should steer you away. Many pipers also play whistle and flute. They are very similar. Also, the Uilleann pipes have a mellower and more musical tone than most other pipes. If you hear pipes in a soundtrack, 9/10 they are Uilleann pipes. If you want to play pipes, just pick up a Uilleann practice set. That’s my take.
Daniel Bingamon makes a Bagwhistle.
Yes! Or you could literally get a bag whistle. ![]()
many - but not all - Scottish Smallpipes chanters will play just fine with whistle fingering.
I have a set by Ian Ketchin: the chanter sounds great with open (whistle), closed (NSP) or Highland fingering. see http://www.ianketchinsmallpipes.co.uk/
Ian can tell you more
