Low G Irish flute music

I’ve been looking at a low G penny whistle flute and wondering about what music is available for the G. Any suggestions on a good beginner’s Irish flute?
I’m a newbie to the penny whistle as well (Mellow Dog D and tweaked Feadog C) All the tune books I have are for key of D.
Can these same songs be played on key of G whistle or flute? What adjustments would I need to make, if any?
I can read music a little bit.
Thanks.

Yes, generally speaking, you’ll just want to play all whistles and flutes as if they were D whistles. If you’re reading from a page, just use the standard fingerings you learned on your D whistles. The resulting sound will be in the specified key of the new whistle or flute, but you don’t need to learn new fingerings. Thus, switching instruments is an automatic way to transpose from key to key with no effort involved.

Thanks for the information. This is all new to me so it’s very helpful. I’ve played the piano and organ many many years ago. Got interested in the whistle because of an artist friend. And several on the whistle forum have irish flutes and they got me interested. Since I play only for myself and wife, not interested in expensive ones.

Do any of you know anything about the WhistleSmith flutes and whistles? I have a low D coming from him.
