thankyou.

and where is the best place to buy a flute for less than £30?

Unfortunately, the only thing I can imagine for that price is a FLO(*) on eBay. Don’t buy one, they’re not worth their (very low) price.

If you really can’t spend more, I think the better thing to do is to follow Doug Tipple’s instructionand build one. That can be a lot of fun

(*): Flute-Like Object

For not much more money you couldn’t buy a Hamilton Practice flute.

£30 is about $52 American dollars. A Tipple 2-piece 6-hole is $55.

have you tried this? how easy/difficult is it?

The pipe used by Mr Tipple is much thicker than the pvc pipe easily available here in the UK.

It just so happens that I have a Tipple 2 piece low D going spare!
It has offset holes, and a wedge, and it sounds great.

If yer interested, PM me, and we’ll negotiate around the £30.

shame about the PVC pipe.

Same here in France. I found a very thick PVC pipe, but it’s hard to find. The resulting flute is really usable, and would be my camping flute if I didn’t have a Jon C.

PVC isn’t all that’s thicker in the U.S.A.!

haha, nice one.

does anyone know a good tune to start me off on low D flute?
