Low D swop

I have an Overton Low D - non tunable.
(It’s not one of Colins)
I would like to swop it for an Alba Low D
or Alba tunable Sop’ Bb.

Anyone in the UK interested?

Dear Foole

Spray the tube with Armor-All protectant and mold a band of polymer clay(Sculpey III) 1 1/2 inches wide and 2mm thick around the metal tube approximately 2/3rds down the tube between the voicing and the top tonehole. Bake/cure it. Slide the band up the tube and then cut the whistle in half at the 2/3rds place I mentioned. Slide the band back and you now have a Tunable Overton D. If you can’t tune it sharp enough, sand a little length from the top of the body part.

Thomas Hastay.

Good idea if you badly want your favourite whistle (the one you’d never resell…) to become tunable, Thomas! Radical, but good.

Now, if someone calls himself a fool, don’t take his word for it–especially if he’s from UK…

On the “what would you chose” [on the usual desert island] question,

So maybe he wants just what he said–an Alba Low D? If the swop doesn’t work, he can easily sell the Overton used as is, and buy a new Alba for its price. Now suppose the Overton gets hacksawed, band-aid won’t help its resale value.

Thanks for the advice Thomas, but I’m not going to saw this whistle. :astonished:

It is a fine whistle that is used as a spare.
If nobody wants to swop, then I’ll sell it,
and spend the money on an Alba.

My email server is broke at the moment,
so send a private message if yer interested,
and I’ll pick it up from here.
