There is a good search facility at the top of the page. You can find a lot about the Lon Dubh that way. There is at least one recording on Clips and Snips of a Lon Dubh. Another recording is on WhistleThis.com as I recall. And another on JessieK’s site, I think. The original review of a Lon Dubh by JessieK on the C&F whistle forum is linked to on the W&D webpage for the whistle you referred to. My synopsis would be that there was a lot of exuberance for the whistle at first which has moderated over time but the Lon Dubh is still well regarded by some. Not unusual, IMO. The design has also changed a bit over time too. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Also not unusual. As with most whistles, my advice is to try one before you buy one or be resolved to keeping your eBay selling account current.

I found them to be way too quiet. I was not crazy about them. I have heard, like Feadoggie said, that they have changed a bit during the times. The one I played had a nice sweet tone, but the volume was not good for me.
i tried searching C&F; all i got was a posting announcing they were going to be for sale. (oh, i think i searched Lon Dubh and Pat Odwyer; i’ll just try Lon Dubh) i’ve never heard of clips and snips; i’ll check it out. who/what is JessieK? ![]()
thanks; they’re really expensive, so i probably won’t have a chance to sell it on ebay. ![]()
