Kirk Lynch 1/2 Set For Sale

I am parting with a Kirk Lynch 1/2 set made of Ebony and Brass. It has the wooden chanter top and C natural key. It can be viewed at:

I was at pipemaker Joe Kennedy’s earlier this evening and had him play and inspect this set. He commented that it is in excellent, “as new” condition. I wanted a third party assessment that people could trust and Joe is willing to respond to emails in this regard.
(see his website: http://www.kennedysuilleannpipes.com/)

Of course the set goes to the highest bid. Please send a private message if you have any further questions, or to make an offer. Thank you to those who have already shown interest.

Great looking 1/2 set you got there Paul. What’s the other wood used on the chanter, ebony and…? You know where the ivory usually goes.

I rather like that combination.

Hmmm…good question…I forget really.

It’s uh…Brown!!!

Paul

Looks like rosewood:

PD.

In response to a query, the pipes are a "concert pitch"set in the key of D.

Paul

You are right, there, D"Arcy, the mounts are honduras rosewood, as Kirk
told me. I like the look of those.

So, have you gotten yourself a Kennedy full set, Paul?

No, but Joe has been helping me restore my full set which is a Chris Langan/ Ginsberg combination. The final repairs were finished on Monday. Also, I’ve seen a lot of Joe’s work up close and I must say he does make a mean flat set!

Is your Langan/Ginsberg set also concert pitched? Why have you decided to let the Lynch set go?

Say Paul, how close is Joe Kennedy’s shop to London, Ont. ?

It’s about a half hour drive.

Thank you to all those who showed interest in this set. The pipes are now sold.

so who got 'em?
