Let’s throw some oil on the fire here: what’s the use of throwing a lot of money into poor areas when it can never be enough to resolve the problems there? By helping keep more poor people alive aren’t we just fostering an ongoing cycle of over-population, poverty, disease, crime, etc.?
Eating should be reserved for those who can feed themselves. Trouble begins when you start feeding those who can’t. Then they just want more. And there’s too many of them for you to ever feed them all, or well.

I, for one, am happy that Mr. Page is being recognized for his contribution to help the less fortunate. Unlike many famous people who blow all their money on drugs and die early.

Oil on the fire, Joe. I did give warning. Besides, I’m not in favour of hurting or depriving anyone, only it seems to me to be a bottomless pit. I was hoping to encourage dialogue into alternatives that would show real benefits. Instead, I got attempts at clever holier-than-thou. Oh well …
What? How dare he? The article says his mission helps a few hundred kids per year. In a city with hundreds of thousands living in cardboard boxes that is less than a drop in the ocean, and does not make any permanent change for the better. Perhaps there is a better way to help?
