The price is a nominal one. There is no point me looking for a proper price while so many people suffer unneccessarily.

Until Glenn Schultz made me a flute, I also had a similar Sweetheart flute, and liked it a lot. Good deal, for a good cause.
I am tempted to withdraw my offer until your moderator shows a modicum of common sense, but am unwilling to spite those in such difficulties because he is the way he is. It has been suggested by someone with questionable motives that Sweet flutes should be avoided because tung oil may have been used on some of them. I hope that nobody is put off getting a bargain and giving some families shelter because of such nonesense.

i don’t know what was going on one the fluteboard, but I doubt dale deserves being talked about in the manner that you are doing.

Why do people, even whistleplayers, not choose to inform themselves before reacting ?
Such ignorance is unedifying and no more than self satisfying.
We had heard on the flute forum in the context of the recent disaster that some Americans make a priority the looking after their own families before considering the plight of millions starving in mud.
The moderator seems to depreciate arguing with such a sentiment, and the characterisation of Americans as been such an apparantly uncharitable lot.
I registered my appalled reaction but this seems not to accord with the moderator’s views of how international rescue and relief operations should be motivated.
As regards the flute on offer, someone , for her own purposes which I shall not speculate on, seemed to be trying to put a purchaser off doing himself and others some good on the doubtful grounds that a Rosewood Sweet flute would smell of tung oil.
Mr Sweet could no doubt confirm if this is necessarily the case.
The flute is as new, and the equivalent of £120, the nominal asking price to go to the tsunami relief fund.
I didn’t believe that in this case it was necessary to inform myself any closer, simply because, knowing dale a little bit, nothing he would say would deserve this kind of a reaction:

No, we didn’t. What we heard was someone saying that we Americans do think of deeper things from time to time, such as our families. You totally misread what was said in order to suit your anti-American mindset, and you responded with saying that the individual “disgusted you”. Dale had every right, as moderator, to act as he felt best.
Another thing I wanted to say–please do feel free to disagree with our governments actions, but do not blame every American individual for those actions. There are many of us who try very hard to make a change and I for one don’t appreciate your vocalization of animosity towards us as a whole-- especially in a thread where you were supposedly trying to spread good.
As anybody who has actually read the most prominent tsunami thread here would realise, whilst some Americans have taken their eye off the ball from time to time, most haven’t and Dale certainly hasn’t. I don’t see how anyone could criticise him personally, nor smear the Americans on this board as a group. Now that would be the quickest way of joining the few Americans who did take their eye off the ball.
During this time of crisis and need, what will those in need receive from the government of the United States?

The United States, CNN reports, has increased its pledge of aid from $35 million to $350 million.
This is in addition to the substantial donations from American citizens and business.
No amount of money can erase the tragedy of lost and destroyed lives. No country, no amount of wealth…absolutely nothing can do that. My heart goes out to those who have lost lives and loved ones in this horror.

Perhaps, Andrew, you would sleep better at night by offering your flute for sale in a forum populated by people who don’t make you mad. Sounds like a nice instrument though.

like a very nice instrument indeed…but sofar it’s only low whistles for me.
