Is this a real song???

As most of you know… now that I’m back on 2nd shift I’m awake early morning. About the only thing on TV when I get out of work is Adult swim on Cartoon network. I spend most of my time at my workbench Listening to The Cartoons. Well today in an Episode of Lupin III (pron Loo-pahn the third) One of the Characers was in a Boat on Loch Ness singing a song… The only bits of the song heard through the Whole episode are “Mother father please believe me, every word Is true. I just saw a beast with two backs(i think) though the foggy dew.” WHile I have never heard this song, it smacks of celtic, but I’m not sure if it’s real celtic or Engineered Celtic. Does anyone know???
Thanks
Justin-aka JP- aka JustinP- aka Cy-aka Cyfiawnder- aka As… nevermind

There’s a couple at least of songs called “The Foggy Dew”… (although one of 'em is probably better known as “The Foggy Foggy Dew”) perhaps the lyrics were changed for the cartoon? Difficult to know without hearing the melody.

‘A Beast with two backs’??
WAHAY!!!

 I was resisting the temptation to say something like that … but I guess someone had to really

Oh yeah. Amar woulda steamed straight in on that one were he aboot!

Little did the unfortunate lad know…the beast be mommy and daddy dearest :astonished: It’s amazing how much adult humor there is in childrens programming of all ages

If he sang it to the tune of Comeing Through the Rye I have heard it before, long ago. It’s a little kid’s song, maybe from some show or other.

The beast with two backs is Nessy. You naughty boys you.

Lupin III rocks! (If you can get past his skinny limbs)

Adult Swim rocks! (Sorry, I was channeling my teen there for a moment)

The beast with two backs is Nessy. You naughty boys you.

Are you saying that Nessy is fooling around with that poor boys Dad?!?! :astonished:

If you knew Nessy like I know Nessy you wouldn’t put it past her.

Like my new sig? I finally got it spelled right. I think?

Bah. DADGAD’s the way. :stuck_out_tongue:

Speaking of adult stuff in kiddie fare, I recall an old Popeye episode where our hero’s unconscious in the hold of a tall ship, and Brutus/Bluto/whatever is chasing Olive Oyle about the place, crawling after her up the mast and onto the yard and pleading, “Aw, c’mon, Olive, I wanna show you my riggings.”

Heh.

Seems a wee bit strange to me that Martin Carty should advocate standard tuning when he has mastered so many very unusual non-standard tunings. That hard driving rhythm that makes his playing so recognisable does not come from a standard tuning.
Another great collecter of non-standard tunings is Joni Mitchell. She has over eighty different tunings most of which she created herself to compensate for a weak left hand, a result of having a run in with Polio as a child.
This has nothing to do with the Beast with two backs but that’s C& F threads for you.

Slan,
D.

but I guess I just can’t help it

What is Adult Swim?

and

What is DADGAD??

DADGAD is a guitar tuning, bass to treble.

As for Adult Swim, dunno. Or that other whatzit.

Adult Swim is a segment on Cartoon Network aimed toward an older audience…

Yes the song is about Nessy… I guess a beast with two humps would sound just as bad… Especially if you were Amar… boy does he need a cold shower. I don’t mind lupin… it isn’t my favorate… but hey… “whadayagonnado” that’s a little Pennsylvanian English for ya! dang I was going to say something else, but I can’t remember what it was… Poop!
