I ordered a Burke whistle 11 days ago, but the whistle has not been shipped yet (checked order status on his website). The reason I am concerned is that I need it for an upcoming gig the 5th of Jan (in Norway). I have tried to email Michael Burke, but have not heard from him. So I wonder if anyone here knows if he is out of town or for other reasons doesn’t have the possibility answer emails.

It is a holiday season here in the US. I do not know but would not be surprised if Mr. Burke is out of the shop. Did you contact him before the purchase and explain your situation and schedule? Burke ships very quickly in my experience. 11 days isn’t much if you are considering international export/import of a package which could look like a pipe bomb to some customs scanners (unless it was a composite whistle maybe). I’d expect you’ll have the whistle in time.

Yes, I’ve been wondering that too…I returned a couple whistles for an exchange - he very generously sent a session and a narrow-bore I could try out when I only ordered the session. He’s a great guy but it’s been over a month now and I’m starting to wonder if something happened to him because he hasn’t answered several emails, which is very unusual; in my experience emails get answered immediately . I do know he’s working full-time plus the whistle business, which would be a tough work load for anyone.
The postman brought me a packet today, containing a brand new Burke high C whistle (sounds lovely btw)! Yuhu!! It seems Burke shipped it the very day I ordered it. Thank you so much Mike Burke!!! I thought it wasn’t even sent… Apparently Mike Burke is alive and doing a great job!
