Irish Music in Melbourne, Australia 19-2 November?

Business will take me from the Kingdom of Mickey Mouse (aka Orlando, Florida, USA) to Melbourne, Australia 19 Nov (Sunday) thru 25 Nov (Thursday). A bit of the Music would likely help get my head untwisted from the rigors of traveling to the other side of the planet.

My hotel will be in the “Southbank” section of Melbourne. The Session.org produced 3 possible places for Music & food:

The Celtic Club (Wednesday nite session)

The Dan O’Connell Hotel (Monday nite)

The Quiet Man (Sunday nite)

If anybody can gainsay these (i.e., “pub X is now a rap club” or, "those are nice but you really shouldn’t miss pub Y), I’d appreciate it.

Dan O’Connell’s is in Nicholson st. Fitzroy I think. That would be quite close. If it’s the pub I think it is, it has a nice atmosphere. I’ve been there to watch friends gigging (ITM of course) but haven’t been to the session. I imagine it would be quite good. Melbourne has a large population of people with an Irish heritage and it’s own Uilleann pipe club for example. (A friend of mine runs a record shop where they hold bodhran classes out the back.) I haven’t been to those either. :wink:
