We just got back from Ireland and I wanted to share a few pictures of the trip. Not a drop of rain the entire time we were there. We stayed in a cottage in Borrisokane and visited a number of places in the southwest. I picked up a couple of cheap whistles at a place called McQuaids in Nenagh. Went by Custy’s but they were closed on Sunday. We had a really great time and can’t wait to go back. A perfect trip!
Ah, memories… Great pictures buds. Although Ireland is one of those places where taking bad pictures is pretty tough, last time I was there I ended up developing $300.
The Cliffs of Moher are SO photogenic. I had one of my pics blown up into a 22x28 poster, and it’s absolutely breathtaking. Yours really bring it all back.
Wow, those are great pictures. I’m envious. I was struck by how flat it is - then reminded myself that everyone does not live in the mountains and Ireland IS an island…
Actually, we’re planning a trip for a year after this. We’re also thinking about renting a place…how did that work for you? We figured that, being as how we’re vegetarians, we wouldn’t want to have to rely entirely on restaurants for meals, so a self-catering house or apartment would make sense for us.
It worked out great for us. We rented a 4 star cottage for 140 Euros a week, with a small additional charge for electricity usage. We ate dinner at “home” about half of the nights we were there.
Those scenery photos are obviously trick photography: The dead giveaway is the presence of blue sky in some of the pictures, which you’d never see in Ireland.
Jens, all of february was like that. Offcourse this is only done in months with minimal tourism so only the locals can enjoy it
You should see it now by the way, yuk. but on the plus side the falls in Ennistymon are far more spectacular if there’s loads of water coming down them. And Lahinch is more interesting too during a storm when the sea floods the carpark at the promenade and two foot boulders fly over the wall and land in the carpark
