My Syn just came in today, and after a quick bubblebath (it was turning my fingers gray in seconds) I can’t stop playing it! Unfortunately, I have this hacking cough right now that doesn’t permit fast intakes of breath… oh the tragic irony! So it’s slow scales for me today, and getting used to C and Eb again!
The sound is just so lovely. Thanks for everyone’s input. And thanks to my old dad for buying it-- as he said “that’s the cheapest instrument I think I’ve ever bought”-- being that my sister is a violist and a guitarist. $$$

Hey, that’s great! (envy envy!). The best part, of course, is that your dad paid for it.
May you enjoy your SYN as much as I enjoy my “MellowDog”
.
Glad we were of help. Syns are an acquired taste, and its good to know that they are one of your favorite flavors.
My dad never bought me a tinwhistle…though I think my mom did. All my dad bought me was…two keyboards…a guitar…well, I guess he’s clear. And I know what you mean when it comes to colds and air intake. My first homemade ceramic whistle came out just horrible tone-wise because I couldn’t really hear, or play it…all that congestion. Ack! Glad that’s long since over with.
HAPPY SYNNING!
Gluttony A, Lazy Bb, Hateful B, Wrathful C, Lustful C#, Proud D, and the Greedy twins…Eb and E…the seven (or eight) deadly Syns…
…or in your case, the Wrathfully proudly greedy trio…
