I Syn..ed again ... twice!

Purchased a Syn C/D combo sometime back … and then recently ordered the Bb and A tubes … when they arrived they fit very loosely and would fall out if given a chance. I emailed Erle and he offered to send me a complete matched set which surprised me but impressed me with his willingness to satisfy a customer.

They arrived today in a nice bag that holds all 4 tubes and the head. Fit is tight and the sound is great. Am a very happy customer.

I still think the C tube is the best sounding and most responsive of all of the whistles but the Bb comes in close behind. My wife took one look at the bag of whistles and then looked over at the other (old ones) and said that I have enough whistles. I explained that once I returned the 4 originals that I would have a lot more room on the shelf.

I have the Full set and I got to tell you the B nat is great it is sweeter than the Bb but mellower than the C it is my Favorite besides the D.

Get it, you won’t regret it.

Well … I am going to wait until I send the others back and there are not so many whistles on the shelf

Of course … I do need a “car” whistle .. hmmmmm .. maybe one at work!!!

Jim … Buddy ? Back away from your monitor and explain very nicely to the wife that you need serious medical attention and help and , while your away , she should pack up all of those terrible whistles and send them off to the Kingfisher. I’ll be more than happy to help you fight this terrible battle with Syn !!

Seriously , enjoy your new whistles and have fun ! Take care !

Have a Great Day and Fun Whistling !!

Seeing we are in the confessional mood,
I have to admit…I have synned also
A, D and A whistle, i was so impressed i had to order a C and a Bb also,
Erle is an absolute pleasure to deal with, a true gentleman,
the workmanship and quality of his whistles are superb,
i highly respect and have no hesitation reccommending both erle and his work
Regards
David

Ahhh … now that is nice .. true friend in a time of need … but would hate to burden you with my Syns when you probably be needing to work on your own

Jim

C&F is just a smaller slice of life. Everyone comes here and talks about their Syns, but no one is willing to repent and give them up. I guess the good things is that they’re not willing to share their synining with others.

I absoultly cherish the bag of Syns that I carry around and even proudly engage in them in public.

Jim , you’re absolutely right and confession is good for the soul!! That new Lancewood C , that Erle just sent , not only looks good but sounds terrific ! As Duffy commented , it’s not a Syn I’m going to give up any time soon! Maybe … if I just played it in church ? Noooope! Never work !! Much too nice a whistle !

What I can say about the Fullset is that the bore for the A is a bit too narrow and the bore for the E is a bit too wide. Still a Syn though.

I started with a 5 tube set (E, Eb, D, C, Bb, A) and liked 'em so well I ordered a C/D set just to keep in my “briefcase”.

BTW, I’ve even been known to Syn in church :astonished: … my main instruments in our little ensemble are recorders (along with piano, Celtic harp, cello backing the singers), but when the tune fits within my limited whistle skills (such as hymns based on traditional tunes) then I will play whistle, and lately I’ve been intoning the responsorial Psalm on one of the Syns most every week…

Ahhhhh … now there you are … always good to hear that Syners are still to be found in church … thought … perhaps .. only the “good” ones were there.
