That seems a real bargain price to me, Pat. People should be beating a path to your door.
Not sure why people aren’t “flocking”, actually. Jon says that it plays superbly. I liked it even before he worked on it and, to be honest, I’m kinda looking forward to seeing it again. Cocus, ivory, sterling keys, and it even has wood over the tuning slide with gradations for setting up you tuning. It’s a real class instrument - probably nicer than my Wm Hall, actually, but I just had a new head made for that one (by John Gallagher) and can’t see trading it off! I won’t be super upset to see it again (although my wife may have something to say about it!).

If I was over there, I’d be wanting to at least look at it. Looks like at least a couple of grand’s worth (US) of flute there … half price …

The problem for out of US buyers is the ivory. It is definitely pre CITES, but the hassle of “proving” it and getting the proper paperwork is a bit daunting. Other than that, it fits my dream of a potter flute with a C foot.

I’ve sold a couple of flutes out of the country with ivory heads (one to Japan as I recall and maybe Poland?) and not had any problems.
Ivory AFTER ~1946 is subject to international law. Usually 19th century flutes are ok
ditto, I’d probably have it but for the uncertainty of shipping the ivory.
Regarding CITES…by doing it the proper and legal way, it’s a grand hassle. I had a Rudall with ivory come into the country by way of the proper method…and I was ready to shoot myself in the end.
A collector I know simply has them marked “Old Flute” and that’s that. Even had flutes made completely of ivory shipped in that way with no worries.
So…
depends on your comfort level, I suspect.
