I'd like to hear from anyone with an Erik the Flutemaker bam

I am fairly new to whistling (I only own two whistles so far–Walton’s D and C–but hope to increase my collection soon) and don’t have a lot of money, but I am interested in getting some different-sounding whistles. I really like the sound clips of the concert C and D on Erik the Flutemaker’s web site and am interested in buying them, but I wanted opinions before I buy them. Anyone own any of his whistles? If so, how do you like or dislike them? Good qualities, etc.? Thanks a lot and Merry Christmas!

I used to have a concert D bamboo whistle. I liked it. It has a Susato head, so it is similar in playing and sound to a Susato, but the bamboo mellows it out a little–not quite as loud and a bit easier to play on the high notes. The holes are big and it smells really good. -brett

I have one of his bamboo flutes that I bought on Ebay. Haven’t spent much time in learning to play it but the scripture inscribed on the side of it is pretty neat.Gm
