this thread might interest you:
Aw, shucks, I thought you wanted my opinion. ![]()
Didn’t realize you would want it on something specific. ![]()
and I just went through my onion collection looking for the opi variety and found three, now they’re unwanted and sulking.
No opinion (maybe ask Talbert St Claire and Phil Hardy?).
But here’s a nice picture of an onion:

ok, now, wait a minut. this i s the intrenet, not gramar class. I thnik its al- right to mispel a word evry now and then, dont you? and Im a editer by trade as well. it re-minds me of being back in grad schol where we were taght that you can go overrboard on correcting misstakes - gramar cops, they called it. I think w e can alow for a oversite in speling, dont you?
I think you’re entirely right, stiophan, but at least we got that cool onion out of it. Do you have a comparable avocado? Or artichoke?
did this thread really digress in just a few hours from a sincere question about low whistles to varietal vegetables? reminds me of a nifty tune by The Fixx: “One Thing Leads to Another,” (http://www.thefixx.com/enter.shtml) but alas I digress once again. In any case, here you may find all the avocados and artichokes your alimentary canal desires (canal, not carnal). which reminds me, did I ever tell you about navigating the canals through Amsterdam…

Sound and tunability maybe?
Why not give them a blow and see for yourself?
I tried a Chieftain low D and didn’t care for it.
I’m sorry. I didn’t want to be pedantic, i just thought it was pretty funny. I was having a boring day.
Like i said, ask Talbert St Claire and Phil Hardy.
One obvious difference is one is tunable and the other one isnt, right?
g
ditto.
I have a couple of NR Chieftains and had an OS for awhile, but I’ve never played the Kerry Pro, so can’t be much help here.
however, another place you might post your question is the message board on the kerrywhistles site: http://www.kerrywhistles.com/kerryBoard.php. Phil seems to reply to posts that call for his feedback. And email him as well if you like, he’s very approachable: phil@kerrywhistles.demon.co.uk
Sadly I wouldn’t know a Kerry from a Chieftain if I sat on them - but I do know my onions.
Nice picture Glauber, is that shallot?
Good one, Martin.
Is that were the poem comes from “The Lady of Shallot.” ![]()
