How to do inline images?

Can someone tell me how to put an image in a post so it’s visible inline without having to follow a link to the image? I know you have to have the image stored on a server that everyone can access and add the link. I did that, but I couldn’t get the " " tags to work.

the image shack costs you nothing and it’s easy http://imageshack.us/index3.php

just click on browse to choose a picture
then click on host it
after that copy and paste the text where ever you like.

Thanks lixnaw, I already have a place to host the images. What I’m trying to find out is how to reference the image from within a post so it’s visible inline without having to click on the link to it. I couldn’t get the image tags to work, so there must be some secret handshake I need to learn.

i haven’t got a clue Bob, but send Glauber a pm, i think he knows of another image loader that does just that easely.

Check out GaryKelly’s excellent “Guide to Posting Images” sticky-thread in the Test Forum. It might point out something you’ve missed.

Thanks for the posts and PMs on this. It turns out that I wasn’t doing anything wrong, it’s the Yahoo briefcase site that’s not cooperating. You have to pay for full public hosting of images there. What I saw in preview and test post (now deleted) was a little box with a red “X”.

I guess I need to get a better host site after all! :astonished:
