Well, first you need webspace to upload the pictures to. Places that offer free websites (geocities, angelfire, etc.) won’t work because they dont allow you to directly link to image files. You probably have some webspace given to you by your ISP. You may have to contact them to learn how to access it. There are also many free hosting sites, but they are usually unreliable. I’m sure there are many C&F folks who would be glad to host the pictures for you.

OK…

First, the pictures have to be on-line somewhere. Used to be you could grab free web space from any number of providers, build your own webpage and link the pictures directly from there, but most of the free providers don’t allow remote linking anymore (your ISP might, however, and it’s worth asking them). The alternative is to go to a free photo hosting service (Snapfish.com is the one I use, but there are all kinds of them…a net search on “photo hosting” will turn up plenty of options), get an account, and upload your photos there (the instructions are generally pretty straightforward).

Once your photos are on-line, putting them here is easy. If you’re using Netscape, go to where your photo lives and click on it. Then right click on it and choose “copy image location” from the options. Then come here. Open a post and click on “Img” from the buttons at the top of the posting form. You’ll see something like
[ Img ] appear in the posting form. Paste your image’s URL after that symbol, then click the “Img” button again to close the command. If you want to post more than one image, you just keep repeating this.

I’m not sure how you get the image’s location with other browsers, but I’m sure someone here can tell you…Netscape’s all I ever use.
