I want to add a picture of my collection to the thread but I don’t know how to do it. My picture is on a floppy disc. How do I upload the picture ?

By the way there is a sticky thread at the top of the page just for such photos.

The forum will not ‘host’ your images, but will only allow you to point to a picture stored somewhere else. First you need to get your image somewhere that we can all see it - ImageShack, PhotoBucket, something similar, or even your own web server.
Now you get the url of your picture and surround it with ‘img’ tags:
[img]http://phillvanleersum.users.sourceforge.net/JansBoxTop.jpg[/img]
I have put that example into a code block, or the forum software would hide it all and make it look like this:

I have downloaded my picture on Imageshack but I can’t figure how to get it from there to the forum 
Find and open your image on Imageshack. COPY it’s URL. Go to the “post a picture of your collection” on this forum and click on REPLY which will open up a reply window. Click on the button that says Img and it will put this in your message:
You’ll notice that your cursor is between the ][ . PASTE the URL of your image where the cursor is. Now, if you click on PREVIEW at the bottom of the reply window, your image should show up. Easy once you do it a couple of times.
Note that Chiff and Fipple has a Test Forum where you can practice doing this sort of thing without actually posting to the whistle board. Trust me-- it saves embarassment! Good luck.
I have tried over and over and I can’t get it to work. When I go through the steps it post the address in my message, not the picture. The address can be clicked and takes me to the site where a little picture can be viewed. I want the picture in full size to appear in my message. 
I tried to do the same and wasn’t able to do so from Image Shack site.
Can you host your photo some where else?
ImageShack should work fine. Pops, post an example here of what you think is a correct image URL, and we’ll figure out what you’re doing wrong.

OK, your URL points to the page containing the image, not the image itself. Plus, you’ve got doubled img tags.
First, go back to that page, here:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/534/mvc049f.jpg/
At the right of the page, look under “Embed this image”, and copy the “Forum” link here to your post. That’s it, you’re done. The result should look like this:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Of course, you can delete the “Uploaded with” line if you want to. But with only one photo it’s not intrusive, and a courtesy to the hosting service.
