Posting Pictures

Hi all

I would like to post some pictures of my Garvie Low D and the Leather Case that I had made for it.

As a computer illiterate I would be grateful if someone could explain in the simplest terms how to do this. I tried the ‘Search’ function but it was of little use.

Many thanks.

Ian

This is a thread from Forum Support on the topic.

Long story short, you have to upload your pictures to some other place like Flickr or Picasso.
The Chiff and Fipple board will not host your pictures, it will only allow you to attach to your post pictures that you have hosted elsewhere.

You have to make a picture of your whistle first.
Then you have to upload it somewhere, for example to a file sharing platform or just to any free webspace of your homepage, if you have one. There are plenty of free solutions available. Then your image has an URL, which is its internet address - for example something like http://yourhomepage.yourprovider/whistle.jpg.
Now there’s that “img” button above the posting form, which creates an “” tag. Copy/paste the URL of the image into that tag… and here you go!

Edit: Okay, I see that could have saved me those words…

Hi all

Tried to follow what you have posted but none of the functions mentioned come up.

Will have to wait until I can get a friend in to have a go.

Ian

Go to http://tinypic.com/, browse for your image (making sure it’s not too large e.g. max of about 600 pixels wide), then upload it and it will give you code to copy and paste into various formats. Choose the code for Forums and Message boards and simply copy and paste it into your message where you want it. Simple as that!

Hi all

Still unable to post pics. Must be missing something apart from grey matter.

Use the ‘direct link’ given with the pic and use img tags (and, as already recommended, format your pic to say 500 or 600 pixels wide):

You can use ‘quote’ to see how the tags and pic location sit in my post.

What kind of recorder is that? I can’t make out the label in the case… :stuck_out_tongue:

Best wishes.

Steve

The label says “Garvie Bagpipes”.

Ah thanks, I was just wondering why that badger would have a machine gun at the ready… :tomato:

Be afraid…

Be afraid…

Yes… no, I like the pipes better.
Or is this the reaction you should expect when playing the pipes in the woods? :stuck_out_tongue:
