Seeing as the interwebs are filled with horror stories about poor customer service and shaddy online purveyors of goods, I think it is only fair that businesses that give superb customer service should be recognized.
About a month or so ago, I bought a Freemand Tweaked Mellow Dog C/D combo from Whistle & Drum. After about a week, I managed to dislodge one of the laminated strips on the tweaked mouthpiece when cleaning it. I e-mailed Blayne at Whistle and Drum and he contacted Jerry the same day to arrange for a replacement, no questions asked. I offered to pay for the replacement and/or shipping, but I was told a free replacement was no problem.
Today I received my replacement mouthpiece in the mail. It actually plays better than the original one! I am a very satisfied customer of Whistle & Drum and Freeman Tweaked whistles and very impressed with the customer service of these two businesses.
Thanks for the post, that’s good to know. My experience with whistle-makers - Michael Burke, John Sindt, and Doc Jones as a whistle-purveyor - has always been positive. They seem to be a little island of quality service in the retail jungle!
Just to put in my five bob’s worth (UK member). Received my Sindt Low A on Monday. Amazing instrument and dealing with John was as faultless as the instruments he makes.
Fair play to Big whistle aswell then, I purchased a JF tweaked Bb, and when it arrived in the post I noticed it had a minor crack on the mouthpeice. I got in touch and I had a replacement head within two days
Great customer service, and and friendly to speak to on the phone, would recommend.
