Also, I got quite a chuckle to note that on the Whistle forum, they are disucssing whether or not the have gotten whistles for Christmas, while here on the Uilleann forum, the discussion is drill bits.

I was hoping for a five reg froment set in C from Santa, but no luck this year. Until sets of pipes come down level in price with whistles I’ll have to keep dreaming.

I’d “settle” for a K&Q half set. Oh, well. Happy Holidays, everyone!
I’ve already ‘settled’ for an unstoppable set of concert ‘D’ drone reeds for Christmas.

The unstopable drones are great. Especially after you’ve put your set down for the night and put the pipes case under the bed, with the soft, muffled buzzing of the drones as you drift off to sleep.
Early in the year, unhappy with the state of my flute playing, I got a notion I should get a D set to play out. By the end of May, a friend had a good laugh at me for entertaining that notion and then offered to make me a set tout de suite if I was serious about it. How could I refuse? As a result I was sort of expecting a little compact 3/4 set around Christmas but things got a bit behind. I told him to take it handy, take all the time needed, no stress. A few more weeks so.
I am strangely thrilled.
I hope it arrives nice and early, in perfect shape and fulfils all your hopes for it.
